Pet retailers are to be prohibited from purchasing kittens and dogs from the us government in a crackdown aimed at stopping puppy farming.
Third party earnings of dogs or cats under six weeks old will be illegal, that means customers might have to cope with all the breeder or an authorised rehoming center.
The move, introduced from Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), follows people consultation that saw 95% of the populace supported for this a ban.

“We have said that an limit to third-party earnings alone would be inadequate to finish the pet trade catastrophe and we are pleased that this is being looked over along side enhanced licensing conditions for breeders launched earlier this past season .”
