It has been a wild ride so far as I continue to stay above water in this contest of 282 entries. After six weeks, I am tied to eighth place, a half-point out of seventh, 1 game from fourth and two points from first, that pays 40 percent of the pot.
I have had some ups and downs, and a breaks.
In Week 1, I went 6-1 but my failure was Nebraska -4 in Colorado. The Cornhuskers were up 17-0 at the half gave up 24 from the fourth quarter and still had a chance in OT but the drama calls of head coach Scott Frost were dreadful as well as the Buffs pulled a 34-31 OT win. That craziness prevented me from starting the competition 7-0.
In Week 2, I went 3-1 with college dogs and that included taking West Virginia +6.5 at house vs NC State and the Eagles of Eastern Michigan +7 against Big Ten school Illinois. Not only did cover but they both won straight up. When you are pulling games out up like that you do gain a little bit of confidence.
In Week 3, this is a 2-5 total beatdown, my only shedding week. I did predict Appalachian State to win with a field goal vs UNC and they did just that, but that I had many tough losses per week. I chased Michigan over Wisconsin that week and that game was a failure from the beginning. Then Id the Falcons +2 against the Colts and then they lose by three despite outgaining the Colts in every stat except the one that really counts and that is the scoreboard.
I had been confident with all the at home vs the Patriots and a great deal happened in that match and that I was blessed to pay that match.
In college I went 4-0-1 in Week 5 and that comprised Oregon State as a dog that won up and Stanford as a 16-point puppy that also won up and the two groups won by double digits. WOW… I really have to pat myself on the back for those two Pac-12 beauties. Because I have a touchdown with 10 minutes left fourth-and-10 in the Texas line, I pulled a tie +11 using West Virginia.
In a blowout , I dropped in Week 6 and have now learned the hard way to not bet against the Wisconsin Badgers. Im 0-2 betting against these and both games were performed by halftime. Wisconsin might be the best team in the country and sleeping on them at this stage is just plain silly if you do so. However, aside from that, I moved 6-1 ATS for the third time in a few weeks. I moved to 2-0 at the contest simply taking the Houston Texans. I won together +5 versus the Chiefs and in Week 1 when they had been +7 from the Big Easy against the Saints.
So in all, I am still inside at 28-13-1 and will only hope I create smart picks and if I use the force, throw a coin or throw darts to create themit does not matter as long as I are still on the right side more frequently than not.
