Michael van Gerwen is your favourite however in a tournament that has seen seeds sprinkled, Rod Studd and Wayne Mardle contemplate the semi-finals.
Friday is not one which was predicted, but the four men left standing have been responsible.
The name has never been defended by him although van Gerwen is your champion, he is also the only real seed remaining after the decision of the quarter-finals sprinkled the rest of the worlds best eight.
The Dutchman takes on surprise semi-finalist Chris Dobey, who is enjoying the best week of his career, while in the other semi-final Glen Durrants fairy-tale introduction year around the PDC continues against a resurgent Dave Chisnall, who was defeated in the final by Phil Taylor six decades ago.

May not have everything his own way against Hollywood, whose ending was a portion of the championship and hell need more of the same.
Dobey was brilliant at beating Gary Anderson, in beating Ricky Evans composed, then battled his way. The monster has stirred in Van Gerwen, although hes shown that he can win in several ways this week and his double-to-start was amongst the finest.
Despite winning the Premier League, the Masters and the World Championship there are several questions of MvG after a year.
However, this week he has looked in the disposition in surviving a scare against Jamie Hughes and needing to find his best against Mervyn King, that will be the time of year that he comes alive and hes got a 100 percent record against Dobey in their livelihood head-to-head.
Professionals verdict – Van Gerwen is the favourite as everyone apart from Chris Dobey will and that I anticipate Van Gerwen to triumph. Whatever occurs, if Chris will go up and perform it has been a really successful week for him.
Hes defeated Gary Anderson, the best win of his career, and hes got further than he has ever obtained in reaching a TV semi-final, he has had and I expect he pushes . Rod Studd

Michael van Gerwen – that I had to create something and as Mervyn played an excellent game, that I had to work hard.
I expect a good match but the format is not in his favour and it suits me. So I want to make sure I put him because hes a dart player he has not come this far , he has a lot of talent.
That is the time of season when you can make a #1m within only a couple of months so I have to be sure I am sharp.
Chris Dobey – I believe I did the right thing since I could not continue going on like that and that I was not setting it in a few legs, thats the reason I changed.
When I took with treble 16 the 100 finish, double 16 thats why I took the decision to get back to 16s. Its a fantastic competition, Ive played double in in. Double out contests because I started darts and its a wonderful format for me.
Ill never look past my next opponent. Obviously Michael is outstanding, the world No 1, however I shall prepare myself if I am going into some sport and hopefully Ill be at my best.
Chizzy had been earmarked as one to watch after a few terrific kind on the floor this season that has contained three nine-darters and three Professional Tour titles plus a reversal of darts.
Hes lived up to this billing from the first round where he accounted for Gerwyn Price and he has not looked back into a tournament where hes decent pedigree, it is the fourth time in the last seven years he has reached the last eight and he appears in the ideal shape to eventually break his main duck.
Duzzas year continues to go against strength-to-strength, having won his Tour card at January the three-time BDO world champion won a Pro Tour name within a month, and it has gone on to achieve the World Matchplay semi-final on his introduction and the Grand Prix on his very first showing.
The pair have met for example a Pro Tour final at February where Duzza won it along with the Grand Slam of Darts past 16 two years back Friday night seems like being another thriller.
Experts verdict – I think Chizzy wins very handsomely and why I say is that hes playing better and getting into his rhythm his standard of play is much better generally.
Chisnall has gone 16 games without averaging less than 85 at a format, if he does that against Glen he wins as Glen has been dodging a few too many bullets.
I dont believe Chizzy, who has confidence will allow off him. I see him then I see him bothering Van Gerwen in the closing. Wayne Mardle

Glen Durrant – I should be elated but Im scratching my head askingam I at the semi-final. But what I will say is that if these opportunities present themselves you have to grab them.
It isnt about expertise, and Im towards the end of my career, maybe five or six decades, I am here to win. If I was 20 or 30 then its a week but I understand exactly what the consequence is and that I like putting stress on myself, if I can win I am also in the Grand Slam.
Chizzy is a champion whos playing fantastic while I am pulling and pulling, a famous PDC player but a punch at the 12th round is swinging and catching them!
Dave Chisnall – as weve seen with all the seeds heading out but I attempt to plod on, get off and running, Its a format hit dozens and hit drops.
Playing with Gerwyn in the round – that was the tie of the round and it was a great game that went all the way but I have had three games. Steve [Bunting] wasnt nicely and Nathan is a player.
It has been a year, Im really happy at home and that means Im happy when I go away also.
Coverage of the semi-finals of this World Grand Prix gets underway on Friday night from 7pm on Sky Sports Action & Main Event.
