A Bunch of Premier League legends and Also Man City are set to turn out for Vincent Kompany’s testimonial, Following week, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
Kompany, who captained Manchester City into four Premier League titles, will go back Wednesday to celebrate his own 11-year remain using a testimonial game to be aired on Sky.
The 33-year-old left the club in the end of last season – after causing them to back-to-back league trophies – to return to his home country of Belgium and club Anderlecht.
He is going to be joined by a star-studded line-up for the Manchester City Legends vs Premier League All-Stars game, including lots of his in the Etihad such as Edin Dzeko, Mario Balotelli, Joe Hart, Aleksandar Kolarov plus much more.
They will take on a line-up whose squad can boast Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, Wales director Ryan Giggs, four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Thierry Henry and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes among their positions, all in the aid of this charity Tackle4McR, that was put up by Kompany in partnership with Manchester mayor Andy Burnham to tackle rough sleeping in the city.
“I’ve had such a special time in City and the testimonial isn’t so much a game I am simply looking forward to for myself, it is a chance to say goodbye,” Kompany mentioned ahead of the game.
“The club have been fantastic to me and I have always given everything I have had and this game is to them.
“The fact it is for charity is significant to me too – it’s a part of Tackle4MCR that’s trying to have an effect on the displaced in Manchester.
“I have been blessed to grow and develop from the city and it’s unrecognisable from 11 years ago when I joined but it also appears to have abandoned a lot of people behind too.”
